Welcome to a review of the Insignia D310NA15 LED 720p 60Hz HDTV Series. There are 3 different sizes in this series, the 28, 32 and 39 inch screens. If you are in the market for a low budget TV for a guest room, office or kitchen space, this model will fit the bill. It is compact and light weight, with a streamlined design, sure to please. Set-up is easy with detailed instructions and menus in English, Spanish and French. Outfitted with 2 HDMI inputs, 1 USB input, an audio out, coaxial digital output and more, you have plenty of different options for connecting necessary equipment such as a Blu-ray or DVD player, cable box, gaming console, AV home theater receiver, external speakers, headphones and more. The user friendly manual will help best guide you on how to set up your system. The MHL input allows you to connect a Smartphone or tablet to stream videos, pictures and music, but the purchase of a MHL cable is needed. With the addition of a Roku stick, connected to the MHL input, the variety of channels available to you increases dramatically. You will have access to thousands of channels including Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and Amazon Instant Video, to name just a few.
The remote control is simple and easy to use. With the click of one button, the menu button, you can change your settings and place your TV in “game mode” for example, and the TV will be optimized with the best settings for game play to enhance your gaming experience. The part number for the remote control is NS-RC4NA-14.
With 720p high definition, you can enjoy realistic, images with vibrant color and clarity. The contrast ratio of the 3 different sizes is different, all according to screen size. The larger the screen, the higher the contrast ratio. The contrast ratio aids in defining the contrast between the light and dark areas of the screen to further enhance picture quality excellence. The 28 inch screen has 8 watts total power in the 2 speakers while the 32 and 39 inch screens both have 10 watts total power in the 2 speakers. They are all equipped with DTS Sound Technology to deliver crisp, clear, natural sound with deep, booming bass. Generally speaking, most flat panel screens audio output is adequate but not the absolute best in sound quality. However, with all the connections available, you can simply attach a soundbar, external speakers or a home entertainment system to boost the sound and make it more like the sound you enjoy in a movie theater. This series delivers excellent performance and the price is right, definitely worth looking into.
