Welcome to a review of the Onkyo AVX-290 5.1-Channel Home Theater Package. This home theater package is in the entry level range as far as price, and doesn’t have all the features of higher end systems but makes up for it in performance. It is designed primarily for small to medium sized rooms. Instructions in the manual are easy to follow, with speaker cables that are color coded and an FM tuner that is easy to setup. This system comes with 4 HDMI inputs to connect your equipment such as a blu-ray player, cable/satellite box, gaming console, or PC. Although it does not come with a USB port, it does come equipped with a universal port on the back side of the receiver that allows you to connect peripherals such as an iPod/iPhone dock.

The remote control that comes with the AVX-290 HT system is part# RC-762M. Some users have commented that the remote control is hard to program but with the help of Onkyo support, any problems are easily solved.

As part of this home theater system, Audyssey audio filters optimize the sound so that you can enjoy superior sound quality. User-friendly on-screen menus allow you to easily adjust settings. Welcome to a review of the Westinghouse UW32S3PW 32” Class 720p 60Hz LED HDTV. This model is modern and sleek with its ultra slim design. This 32” is perfect for any wall or stand and is easy to mount because of its light weight. The set-up is easy however some consumers are not satisfied that the user manual comes in the form of a CD instead of an actual printed copy. This can be problematic for users with no computer or little knowledge of computers and how to read and navigate a document on CD.

The UW32S3PW comes equipped with only one button on the front, the on/off switch. For those people who often displace or lose their remote control, this can be an annoyance. Although this model’s resolution is only 720p, unless you get up very close can you tell that it is not 1080p. The picture quality is excellent, delivering brilliant clear, crisp images whether you are watching movies, playing a game, or have your PC connected to use as a monitor. Its wide vertical and horizontal angles allow anyone in the room to view with ease, no matter where they are seated.

The remote control that comes with this model is part number RMT-22. It has been noted that at times the remote control is slow to respond and needs to be positioned directly in front of the TV to work.

The biggest complaint about this model, as is with other ultra slim flat screen models, is the sound quality. Users have said that the sound is often muffled and sounds tinny, as though coming from a tin cup. For many, the sound quality is adequate, but for those who desire a more enhanced and high-end sound there is an easy solution. Welcome to a review of the DENON DHT-391XP HOME THEATER SYSTEM. The overall sound quality on this device is fairly good. The subwoofer is also very powerful and responsive, without overpowering all of the audio. However, one issue about this model is the satellite speakers. It has been stated that the treble lacks a bit and even with the treble maxed out, it still feels like you are missing out on the clear high pitched sound effects. This device does provide quality mid tones, but in in the opinion of some, without crisp highs, therefore the overall sound suffers.

This model is built sturdy, looks great, and presents very good options, plus you will receive an easy to use remote control, part number RC-1149, that will get you through the setup and menu options with ease.

Some people have had a problem with the lack of inputs on the back of the receiver, however it has been found to be perfectly fine because all of the components can go into the TV first, with a single optical digital audio going out to the receiver. Overall this model is fairly solid but it does seem per some, that you need to work with this model a bit more to get it setup but once that is completed, the system is sound.
