Welcome to a review of Yamaha’s Aventage AV Receiver 2013 Line up – RX-A830, 7.2 CH Home Theater Receiver. The RX-A830 receiver represents the top of the line of Yamaha’s AVENTAGE 2013 line up. With 7.2 channels and 100 W per discrete channel, the RX-A830 has been noted as no slouch. It features eight HDMI inputs and two outputs with 3D, ARC (Audio Return Channel), and standby pass-through. The second HDMI output can output to Zone B.

Yamaha has noted that the AVENTAGE line of high-performance AV receivers are based on the audio design concept of providing a massive, full-bodied sound for movie sound effects and the accurate reproduction of music sources. By expertly harmonizing traditional and advanced technologies, every factor that affects sound quality, from materials and parts to construction, layout, vibration damping (unique foot) and “fine-tuning” the sound, is handled with no other thought than to achieve the best possible audio quality. As a result, this AVENTAGE model has the ability to reproduce the most subtle details of high-definition sound so that listeners can enjoy a truly high-class sound studio experience at home.

The RX-A830 receiver’s HDMI input/output supports Ultra HD (4K) video image pass-through. It also can perform Ultra HD (4K) up scaling to boost a lower resolution image to super high-def resolution. This ensures compatibility with the latest super high resolution video formats. Plus you will receive an easy to use remote control, part number ZF270300, which will help you create the sound and experience you are seeking.

Consumers are saying that the RX-A830 is easy to set up and operate, even with all the different options. Four SCENE buttons are configurable and can be used to power on the unit and select an input source by pressing a single button. However, it has been noted, that while listening to audio-only input sources (ex: tuner, Internet radio, iPod/USB, etc.) and using the TV to display info, there is no screen saver function. Overall this receiver is receiving great reviews for being a full feature receiver with an attractive price tag.

PROS:
• Easy setup

Welcome to a review of Yamaha’s RX-V675, 7.2 CH Network AV Receiver with Apple Airplay. With a 7-channel surround sound, the RX-V675 was made to produce an awesome sound experience. Intelligent Amp Assign automatically assigns amplifier channels to certain speakers depending on the functions selected. For example, in a 7.1-channel system, when Zone 2 is off, all 7.1 channels will be used in the Main Zone. However, when Zone 2 is on, power to the two surround back channels will be directed to the two speakers in Zone 2 and the Main Zone will receive 5.1 channels of power. Similarly, when CINEMA DSP 3D is on, the two Front Presence speakers will be powered and not the two surround back speakers. When CINEMA DSP 3D is off, this situation is reversed. Thanks to Intelligent Amp Assign, there’s no need to switch the speaker cables on the rear of the receiver.

This AV receiver’s HDMI input/output supports 4K video image pass-through. It can also perform 4K up-scaling to boost a lower resolution image to super high-definition resolution. This ensures compatibility with the most current video formats. You can adjust all the settings using the easy to use remote control, part number ZF269900.

3D means the receiver can handle 3D signal data. The Audio Return Channel function enables data to be sent and received via the same HDMI cable so you can hear the sound from the TV via a single HDMI cable with no need for an extra optical cable. In addition to the large number of HDMI inputs on the rear panel, there is also one on the front panel. This gives you a convenient way to quickly plug in a digital camera or camcorder for high quality pictures. Consumers are very pleased with the performance of the RX-V675 receiver. If you are serious about your entertainment, this might be the one to check out.

PROS:
• Sound quality
• Power
• Intelligent Amp Assign

CON:

• Zone 2 seems low

Welcome to a review of Yamaha’s HTR-3066, 5.1 CH A/V Receiver. This AV receiver was designed with a strong focus on achieving exceptionally high sound clarity. It employs a discrete amp configuration and a low jitter PLL circuit, which contribute to its excellent audio performance. It is simple to operate, yet includes essential capabilities for high definition home audio video enjoyment, offering popular features like USB input for iPhone and color on-screen display.

The Subwoofer Trim Control enhances the low frequencies by avoiding overlap with the front speaker output. This result in a cleaner, more focused sound stage while providing a seamless frequency response. When the subwoofer frequency overlap occurs in conventional systems, the overall sound is “pushed” toward the subwoofer. The Subwoofer Trim Control takes care of this by separating the low subwoofer frequencies cleanly, thus stabilizing the front stage while providing a well-balanced enhanced bass sound.

The HTR-3066 receiver provides advanced HDMI features including Ultra HD (4K) pass-through. Ultra HD (4K) refers to four times the resolution of a 1080p display. This receiver is capable of passing the 4K data from the source to the display for image clarity far beyond present standards.

A USB port on the front panel allows convenient connection of an iPod/iPhone, which also charges when connected. In addition, you can use the receiver’s remote control part number ZA113500 to operate the iPod/iPhone music playback functions.

The HTR-3066 has great sound effects and is easy enough to setup even for first time home theater users. Yamaha also makes its receivers eco-friendly with a low standby power consumption of 0.3 W.
